Corbin Bleu is jumping onto the big stage July 27th at the Emmet County Fairgrounds as the grand finale to the Charlevoix Venetian Festival. Bleu stole the hearts of school-aged girls around the world starring as Chad in Disney’s “High School Musical”. He is currently recording “High School Musical 3”, which is scheduled for release October, 2008.
Nominated this year for an NAACP Image Award in the Outstanding New Artist category, Corbin took the R&B charts by storm with his debut album “Another Side”. He also broke the Billboard’s Hot 100 chart at #14 with his smash hit “Push It To The Limit” from the record-breaking Disney Channel original movie “Jump In”.
Although he’s only 18, Corbin Bleu has been around the Hollywood block more than once. He kicked off his career as a toddler starring in commercials, modeling and appearing in an off-Broadway play. Bleu’s several TV gigs include a guest stint on “ER” and his first recurring role on “High Incident”. One day he hopes to return to Broadway. “I want to be on Broadway so bad,” he says, with a positive and enthusiastic energy that is contagious. “And I want to direct eventually.”
Corbin credits his fun loving, easy going attitude to his family, who always keep him grounded. “I’ve always learned from my parents and my three sisters. My parents and I are really tight and that’s important,” he says. “They still make me do chores and make sure I don’t get a big head!”
Corbin’s show will be the final “hoorah” of the 78th Annual Charlevoix Venetian Festival being held July 20-27, 2008. Enjoy a fun-filled week of Venetian activities in and around the beautiful parks and beaches of Charlevoix, then take a 17- mile drive along Lake Michigan to the Emmet County Fairgrounds in Petoskey, to finish your weekend at the Corbin Bleu show.
